Honoring Hearts

O.k. so I can't believe it has been 5 miserable days since you got to read my blogs. I know you missed me. JUST KIDDING! : P

BUT I did miss you.

I have some BREAKING NEWS. O.k, not like a tornado or anything, but Blogger Breaking News. {Random Question: Why do they call it breaking news?}
Next week I go on vacation.
I don't know if I will blog or not, but you hear about it when I return, once again to my ''Official Blogging Chair'' in my humble abode.
I will be gone from Friday night to June 5th.

So, I will get to my point :)

Mark 7:6 NIV 1984

 These people honor me with their lips,
   but their hearts are far from me.

Marko 7:6 (Swahili New Testament)

 6Yesu akawajibu, ``Nabii Isaya alisema ukweli alipotabiri juu yenu, ninyi wanafiki, kama ilivyoandikwa: `Watu hawa wanani heshimu kwa midomo yao, lakini mioyoni mwao wako mbali nami.

Mark 7:6-8 (The Message)

{More than our main verse.}

 6-8Jesus answered, "Isaiah was right about frauds like you, hit the bull's-eye in fact:

   These people make a big show of saying the right thing,
         but their heart isn't in it.
   They act like they are worshiping me,
         but they don't mean it.
   They just use me as a cover
         for teaching whatever suits their fancy,
   Ditching God's command
      and taking up the latest fads."

''These people honor me with their lips,'' You might go to church. You might sing the Worship Songs. You Talk-The-Talk. {I know so original, right? Sorry.}
But it's true. You say you love God, but do you truly find yourself lost in His presence?
Do you truly LOVE, Love? {God = Love}
Think about it. I will, too.

''but their hearts are far from me.''
Don't be far from God. It is cold far from him. If you don't mind the cold than just imagine it like a gazillion degrees. There is a verse that I have recently memorized that I want to share with you.
Hebrews 3:12 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
Like how The Message puts it your heart is not in it.  Fix your thoughts on Jesus and He will rock your world. Not kidding.

I challenge you, Emilee to honor. TRULY HONOR God with your heart AND your lips.
I challenge you to honor. TRULY HONOR God with your heart AND your lips.

Im going to go now...Thanks for coming to visit me. Next time I will make some coffee. Maybe.
Cream and/or/neither sugar?

Sweet Dreams.
Love,

The Holy Spirit, More Prayer, and Swahili.

Hello everyone.
How are you?
Like I am totally ready for school to be OVER!! Are you? I have 6 days left :) Im {extremely} happy and all, but I just can't believe that summer is like here. :)

Here we go!

Romans 8:26 (English Standard Version)

 26Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For(A) we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but(B) the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

So, I have been looking for this verse for sometime, because I knew it existed, but had no idea where it would be. It turned out {after I looked in the back of my Bible} that it was on a page I already had bookmarked!

O.k. like isn't  this picture perfect? Basically what it is pointing at here is that we don't know how to pray like we should  right? So, lets read it in The Message {more than just verse 26 BTW}

Romans 8:26-27 (The Message)

 26-28Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

The Holy Spirit Himself begs God for us, because we are helpless :) ''He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans...'' When we don't know what to say...He understands. Have you ever {I have} said this prayer ''God, I have no idea what to say, but help me please.''?

Here is a quote that I have enjoyed.
Here are the two best prayers I know: ''Help me, help me, help me'' and '' Thank you, thank you, thank you.'' ~Anne Lamott Traveling Mercies
Also, there is a song by Jason Gray that this quote inspired... ~Help Me, Thank-You

So, when you don't know what to say....When there are awkward moments....When you aren't speaking to your husband {Jesus, just to clarify that}...You just simply start. With a Help Me. Help Us.
 Ya know how when you want to make new friends or want to talk to a friend after being apart people tell you to just start with a simple ''hi.''? Well, just start by telling God about your day...Tell him hello..Tell him that you are angry that you had a miserable day...Thank him for that clean water you are blessed with...That hot shower... ANYTHING!! Yes, you ask him for more serious things, but in relationships with my girlfriends you talk about your bad hair day and then you go to life and death situations in the next breath. So, You can tell Jesus about a silly thing and about the sad things. The Bible doesn't say He only cares for the ''serious stuff'' now does it?

When you don't know what to say...the Holy Spirit prays for you. How cool is that?
After all, like the verse says, He knows us better than we know us.

Since I am going to Uganda we found out that Swahili and English are the main languages there and we are starting to learn several words in Swahili...So, tonight I thought I would share our Bible verse in Swahilli. Is that cool?

Warumi 8:26 (Swahili New Testament)

 26Hali kadhalika Roho hutusaidia katika udhaifu wetu. Kwa sababu hatujui kuomba ipasavyo, lakini Roho mwenyewe hutuombea kwa uchungu usioelezeka kwa maneno.

I know, I know. It doesn't make sense, but I thought we could go all ''international'' tonight and other nights in the future as well :)

I hope you enjoyed some more insights on prayer and I will see you Treasures later.

Love, Your Blogger,
Emilee <3

Love is Binding.

I wrote a journal on Colossians  3:14 awhile back and I am going to share it with you and then give another one today.

Memory Verse On: March 3rd 2011 Journal On: March 4th/5th {late at night. Surprise, surprise : P}

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. ~Colossians 3:14

Hey! I love how it feels to look at a fresh page just like having a brand new start to my day and life. Sorta.
 Think about having pure and perfect unity.  Unity in Christ. Well, its reachable my friend! Put on love, look for oppurtunities; pray for them and let God do the rest! It sometimes is that easy. You just have to live with the nervousnessness and eventually in some areas, you become friends with oppurtunity. Trust me when you go through the whole ''should I?'' ''Could I?'' ''What will people think?'' stage, well trust me sometimes it doesn't it doesn't work out, but in the end you you won't regret it. I promise. Now, if it does get even a tiny bit better you won't regret, because the God that formed the Universe with His fingerprints told you to.Just be loving and discover and explore the concept of a Diverse City. Make it so {don't judge me for plagiarism :) } if Christ hadn't died for you and performed miracles, your life AND ministry would be RIDICULOUS! LOVE, Emilee  <3 Kaye

James 1:2-4 Devo :)

Have you ever heard a passage of Scripture so many times that you are just bored to tears? I have.
Ya know, I love many verses that are very well known, but sometimes when that verse comes up OVER...OVER...AND OVER again you just silently read it in your head and want to move on.
Well, I have many of those passages...here is one of them.
It seems everyone loves it ya know? Well, the reason they do is because it is awesome!
Take these Scriptures that you hear and actually HEAR them. Take Scripture apart to see what is happening on the inside. There is a verse in Hebrew {4:12....Look it up :) } that talks about Scripture cutting like a sword...judging are attitudes...

Did you hear that? Jesus was calling you. On your cell phone. O.k. so it wasn't on your cell phone, but he could do it! Your Bible sitting in the corner of your office and room is like your phone going off with your favorite song as a ringtone. So lets answer it already!

James 1:2-4 (New Living Translation)

Faith and Endurance
 2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

So, this Scripture is one of my former ''boring Scriptures''....
but if you actually listen to it... You get something from boring to brilliant.

{v2} Alot of people hate troubles, but wouldn't you like to just embrace them? It says hear to consider it an opportunity for joy. Not happiness {which is temporary BTW}, but joy. Pure Joy. You could have that joy with a little perspective...With an embracing attitude.
{v3} When your faith is tested you have a chance to grow. Yur endurance has a chance to grow. You can run with confidence and endurance and nothing can stop you and Jesus. Grow is a beautiful word. Sometimes. Pretty much 24/7! Just sayin'.
{v4} So let it grow! {No comment it says enough for itself. :) } When your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect in complete, needing nothing.
So, right now you are like ''Emilee, no way sirree is that in the Bible if it says you will be perfect!''
I get your perspective. Nobody's perfect. We were going to be perfect all the time, but that Lucifer had to ruin our everything. When your in heaven...you won't need anything...No sin is allowed. It will take all of our lives to come to that point of being ''fully developed'' as it says here.
Frankly, I can't wrap my mind around me NEVER dieing. I won't ever die!!! Well, I will, but when I die...my life begins. Wierd, huh? No...not really. It a perfect mystery.

Everyone...I am tired. I will see you guys soon, okay? Thanks for joining me!

Emilee's Weekend ''Review'' and Jesus' True Family.

Hello Peculiar Treasures. How was your Mother's Day? {Even if you aren't a mother :) }
My weekend was wonderful. I will tell you something...I am not uploading my pictures from the weekend {yet}, because I have 177 {plus the ones that I have deleted} pictures of my weekend!

The first day we went to Harry S. Truman's Museum and Library!
It was very cool! If it hadn't been for him being a romantic...I might have thought that it was boring. He wrote over 1,000 love letters to his wife!! I like him.

Then, at the hotel I swam with my friend Sarah for like 3 hours!
That night we watched Say Yes To The Dress, Four Weddings, and ate junk food!
BUT we slept on the most uncomfortable bed  EVER!!

On Saturday we went to The Steamboat Arabia museum. Here is the story in as short of form as possible.
These 5 guys heard about this boat that had sunk in the 1850's and wanted to see where it would be today.
The river had changed its course so they ended up ''digging'' in a elder gentlemen's corn field or something.
Their plan was to dig it up...make some cash at an auction and be on their way, but it ended up being a 4 and a half story hole! Their ''hobby'' had gone to far, but im glad that they did it. We watched a little movie about them then one of the ''diggers'' stood up and answered questions! We looked around at all the boots, buttons, bobby pins, china, pickles {that the ''diggers'' had ate!}, and even the only passenger that died. A mule. Sad. Very, very sad.

THEN, we went to the World War 1 Museum...It was overwhelming...
The best part was taking pictures by an ''HAWAII FIVE-O table'' and we went up in this tower:

Awesome, right? I went up twice!

After we went there it was time to eat.
We went throught beautiful homes to go eat at Red Robin {YUMMMM}
When we were finished with an onion tower, fries, and humongous hamburgers...it was time to go home.
To say Chocolates and Coffee...

Anyway! This Mother's Day we went to church....ate lunch with some family...then tonight we went to The Little Apple to watch Soul Surfer {I highly recommend you watching it BTW}...

                Mark 3:31-35 Jesus Describes His True Family

 31 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. 32 A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”
   33 “Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.
 34 Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”

I have always loved this passage. Always. How cool is it that Jesus could even claim you?
So, I know I have already said that Jesus is my husband. He is indeed, but in a non-wierd way at all He tells me here that I could be His mother and sister. How righteous is that? I know.
Ya know they always say in the B.I.B.L.E. that Jesus did have sisters {the same mom and dad kind}...I would love to know more about them ya know?  How awesome would it be to have Jesus as a brother...Like live in the same house on earth brother.....?  Don't you ever wonder about how many details we know in the Bible, but how many we will not know until eternity?
I also like how you just met someone at a camp or church and you already know they are your sister or brother in Christ...Like it is an amazing thing. Totally.

My brothers and sisters, thank-you for joining me. Thanks for reading. Thanks for following.

Kansas City Here I Come!

Hello Everyone!
Seriously! No questions? That's o.k. {I guess} if you have one it is not illegal to ask me any other time then when asked to. How are you? Good! Awesome! Miserable... (((awkward silence))) : D

So, tonight I have been hanging out and packing for Kansas City tomorrow. We are going on a ''field trip'' with my old homeschool group from Iowa.
I love cities. Frankly, I don't really know why, but I do. Skylines are like the ideal view for me. As soon as I see those buildings I grin ear-to-ear and most likely the people next to us...that see it everyday...laugh at me. True Story.
I love the roadtrip part to of  course.
I get to listen to some music...read....daydream out the window...pray...It is just awesome!
So, above are some pictures of KC. Beautiful, huh?
Well, I need to get up at 6:30 so I have to leave you. Im sorry.
I will tell you about my KC adventure when I come back to my Peculiar Treasures, my ''blogging'' chair, and my laptop keys.
Chocolates and Coffee.
